First Round
12 participants
to perform between 4th October (Saturday) and 8th
October (Wednesday) 2008 according to the following schedule:
Saturday 4th October
Afternoons: 17:00, 17:45
Sunday 5th and Monday 6th October
Afternoons-Evenings: 17:00, 17:45, 18:45
Tuesday 7th October
Afternoon:17:00, 17:45
Wednesday 8th October
Afternoon:17:00, 17:45
18:30 - 19:30 Jury deliberation and announcement of up to 9 quarter finalists
- Announcement of results from Round I (up to 9 quarter finalists)
will be posted in the notice board of the competition at the City
Hall and in our official website: www.chopinsocietyhk.org
Second Round (quarter finals)
Up to 9 quarter finalists from Round I
will be joined by three first prize winners of international piano competitions who will be entering the competition directly in Round II to perform between 10th October (Friday) and 12th October (Sunday) 2008 according to the following schedule:
Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October
Afternoons-Evenings: 14:00, 15:05, 16:30, 17:35, 19:05
Sunday 12th October
Afternoon: 14:00, 15:05
16:05 to 17:00 - Jury deliberation and announcement of 6 semi finalists/finalists
will be posted in the notice board of the competition at the City
Hall and in our official website: www.chopinsocietyhk.org
Third Round (semi finals - chamber music)
6 participants to perform on Tuesday 14th
and Wednesday 15th October 2008 according to the
following schedule:
Evenings: 19:00, 20:00, 21:00
Note: The 6 participants will go on to participate in the Fourth Round. The
Jury will give them a score which will be taken into account to
decide on the results of the Fourth Round.
Fourth Round (finals - concertos)
6 participants to
perform between Thursday 16th October and Saturday
18th October 2008 according to the following schedule:

18:30 - Prize-giving Ceremony and The
Winners' Gala Performances.

18:30 - Gala Performance by Members of the Jury and The Endellion Quartet
Tuesday 21st October 2008
18:30 - The Orchestra of the Competition, conducted by Maestro Ashkenazy will be performing three concertos. Soloists: Gary Graffman, Cristina Ortiz, Pascal Roge.
